Penton was well represented at the AHRMA National MX at Chehalis, Washington, on August 9th. Larry Good (100 & 125) and 250cc Penton riders Matthew Sullivan and Ed Brown all placed in the top-five in their classes, respectively. Brown won a class and placed second in another, while Sullivan placed fourth in the Open Age Intermediate class. LG finished third in the 100cc Intermediate class (2-3).
Rick DeFord had his 100cc Berkshire on hand (for show), while Buck Murphy was the Legends of MX Honoree. Buck raced for the Penton factory in 1973 and 1974, I believe, then went on to ride for Can-Am before retiring in 1980 from profesional motocross.
It was a great day for all. Look for my coverage in Cycle News in a couple of weeks.
