Title: Leaking Gas Tank Nipple
Post by: chuck on August 25, 2009, 09:09:27 PM
The nipple on my Berkshire gas tank is loose and leaking. I read some old posts on repairs from 2002. Teddy Landers had the same problem and used a drummel to remove the fiberglass around the nipple and then replaced with new fiberglass resin with good luck. Has anyone tried any other techniques with success.

Of course, I just had the gas tank professionally painted...ouch!

Thanks,

Chuck

I did the same thing. Grind a little "trench" around the nipple, then fill in with resin.

Not very far, just deep enough to grind out the damaged area and give a little trough for the new resin to pool in. I'll see you in TN.
