Title: "D" Cylinder Spigot Seal
Post by: VICTOR MONZ on September 07, 2009, 01:12:15 PM
Again, I bring up this topic in hopes of a "magic pill" to solve my air leak problem.   As many of you may know the "D" spigot to 28 Bing adapts to the cylinder, a machined flat surface, with a bit of an offset.  My "aged" spigot just seems to eventually leak a bit of air when it gets warmed up and then overrevs, which is why I suspect it leaks air.  I have added a rubber seal, lots of heat resistance sealer and tried prayer.

Any ideas or a new spigot for my 28 Bing (male) to "D" cylinder, would be greatly appreciated.

Could it help to machine an "o" ring into the cylinder surface ?

Lots of work for that job....there must be an easier, softer way, help !

Thanks.

Victor,
Buy the after market manifold that is flat(engine side) and use a 35MM fork seal to fit between the manifold and engine with some silicon seal.  I think the manifold is avaliable from Sudco?  Maybe someone else can tell us where to get the flat end manifold.

Victor,
Try Keith Taylor, KTR Moto. He's an Authorized Mikuni Dealer and an AHRMA advertiser.
He got a manifold for me in the past.
Good guy to deal with and very fair prices.
His add is in Vintage Views this month, Contact info email: [email protected], phone 402-421-0499
Hope he can help you out.

Thank you, Gentlemen.

I did a "site search" and found my previous discussion request from 2008 and it had the Mikuni manifold info and specs you all provided.

I'll get to work on it tomorrow when the shops open up.  Hope this will solve the issue for me. :)

Thanks again.
