Title: Jackpiner engine braces
Post by: wildman on September 10, 2009, 01:35:05 AM
I am restoring a 1974 Jackpiner that has the tubular engine to frame braces. One tube has one ring guide welded on it, the other has two rings welded on it. My question is which is the right and left tube and how should the rings be placed forward or back? I can't find anything on a search and I have no clear pictures of that area. Thanks for any help. Wildman,

I think the 1974 model should have the flat aluminum braces and not the tubular ones.

i have some 74 and even some 74 1/2's with the steel tubular braces. as memory serves me, the one with one ring goes on the left the one with two on the right.  i'll double check mine this morning and i'll repost for front or back orientation. chi jer

on mine, left side ring forward. right side ring back. but anyway, generally you can tell from the way they have the slight inward or outward orientation when put in place where they belong by holding them snugly without the nuts and/or bolts on.  good luck. chi jer.
