Title: sachs 80/50 cc
Post by: gooddirt on September 24, 2009, 11:50:55 AM
Would a  1967-68 sachs 80cc  barrel  and lowerend  be the same as the same year 50cc sachs motor besides the bore?  Looking to bore a nos 50cc barrel to a 80cc. LG

Larry,
It depends on the engine you are starting with to make the change.  I know of 4 (and there are probably more) 50cc engines that Sachs has built.  When I have done this I have looked at how much cylinder I will have left that fits down in the lower crankcase area.  I also look at the size of the rod and look to see if it has roller bearings.

I have a bunch of NOS Sachs 50S Cylinders with light barrel corrosion... the rest of the Cylinders are perfect. I'll supply a Cylinder at no charge, if you give me the skinny on how it works out (with some pics and measurements of coarse). Send me an email if you want to do the deal...
