Tom & Don at DC Plastics just informed me that they have finished making the revisions to the Preston Petty replacement Penton rear fender making it a better copy of the actual Penton rear MX fender provided by Gary Ellis. Here is a link to their new internet store and the MX fender. Mike

Thanks again for finding my exhaust tip! You da man!:D
Good deal!!! I just put on one of DC plastics "Old" rear fenders and it looks pretty good, but wish I had the "correct" style.
Now my question is. Does DC Plastics need a original front fender to make a mold to match the rear.. I have the original white front fender on my 1972 6-Day. It was Broken in 2 and I glued it together, sanded it down and repainted it. It came out pretty good. I know it will break again.
I'm not feeling the love for DC's current front fender, but was going to order it anyways and put the original away.

The biggest problem with DC Plastics items is that they can not get the glossy type of material to duplicate the original finish from any supplier, even though they have tried extensively. Almost all of their products are made from original pieces, but vary due to unavoidable shrinkage and often warping. The pieces can be sanded and buffed to a glossy finish, but it requires a lot of hand labor. I recommend their items for mainly "rider" bikes and Tom Brosius's fiberglass replicas for show bikes. My bike started out as a living room bike, but I've had to much fun riding it, So I'll just get the DC plastics front fender and store my original. The bike still is a living room bike.
