Title: Back to Clutch Hub Axial Play
Post by: garrettccovington on October 27, 2009, 09:23:49 PM

Well today I had all my feeler gauges and Micrometers up here and went to measure the Distance between the c-clip and the clutch face and I noticed that my c-clip didn't have any holes in it to remove it. Is this how its supposed to be?  without removing anything my distance was .010". so this is a little loose.  Does anybody know where I can get a c-clip.  I plan on calling Al in the am for the shims and bushing.

Thanks G

The axial play should be---ZERO.   Just make sure the circlip is
not binding and fully seated.   I have seen them with lots of clearance .01 to .016 and still functioning okay.   I prefer the smaller the clearance the better.
Have Fun!

Thanks Doug for the input.  I ordered the Bushing, shims, clutch plate alignment tool and circlip from Al B last week.  Hopefully I can get that "Axial" play down.  The thing that really suprised me was that the circlip that holds the clutch on, had NO holes in it and looked like it was worn down. This has me stumped.
