Title: Not Penton, but you might like it anyway

Helmet camera footage of the Runnin Brand GP held near Gadsden Alabama. I'm riding the '79 Maico 440. Its on a working cattle ranch and is good old fashioned natural terrain MX just as it should be. Next time I'm thinking about riding the '77 MC5 400.

No matter what you do once your front wheel hits the wrong side of another riders rear wheel and he's leaning right and your trying to steer left the laws of the universe can't be avoided. How many times has that happened when you know your going down and nothing you do will save you. I like the boot and sky moment. Hope nobody got hurt. Gavin

No injuries other than my pride. I went a little off line to the right and got into some grass "fluff". I was already coming in hot, then I hit that grass fluff and it was like ice, I had both ends locked up and it seemed like I picked up speed. I almost missed his rear wheel, but like you said, once your front hits his rear, Newton takes over and you are just a passenger or in my case a projectile. Everyone seems to like the boot/sky shot.:D

Cool video Brian!  My count had you passing 8 riders after the fall.  Where did you finish?

By the way, Ambr got her transfer papers yesterday and will be flying to Pensacola for A-school on Friday.  I'll let you and your mom know her address when we get it.

Mick,

There are only two classes at this race, pre-74 Vintage and pre-85 PV with no skill breakdown. There were 25 PV and 10-12 Vintage so I was pretty far back. I got 2nd in the first moto and with a second in this moto I would have won the overall, but you see what happened.

It IS a great video and an interesting track...it sure seemed like a loooonng track.  I was totally into your pick-offs ("he's catching third - he got him", "he's catching second - he - he - he CRASHED").

Thanks for the entertainment, Mr. Kirby.
