Title: Wanted - Need this airboot
Post by: rob w on December 25, 2009, 03:52:34 PM
If you have one of these, or know where you can find one.
Part # 55. 06. 026. 500
Carb to Airbox, rubber air boot for a '78 MC5 250. (Also '76 / '77 MC5's)
Lg.ID= 73/74 mm - sm.ID= 52/53 mm & apx. 40 to 50 mm long (angled across sm. end)
Please contact Tom McPeek on POG .
I sold the 2nd to last one I had a few months ago,
and this one is off of the '77 MC5 250 that I currently have for sale.
Thanks very much.

Bob,
Try eBay item # 270427594858. Might have to shorten it a bit but I still think it will work fine.

Parmabike also lists this same style, eBay # 350256674955 but is 46mm long according to his listing. Email him for confirmation of the actual size, he usually is very quick to respond. Mike

Thanks for any help   The Ebay auction has the dimensions as 73 53 81    Which the last 2 work but the large end over the airbox is considerably smaller    I would even like a nice used one or if any one knows a remake from anywhere    Thanks Tom   Bob W  Thanks for the post and the photo ( it looks as if I could pull it off the screen and use it )

Tom & Bawb,
The part that Parmabike sells can be cut down to work for this, but is not stepped like the one you pictured, it is more angled down toward the carb, but still offset to one side. I have one that fits the new measurements except is longer overall, but like I said, they can be cut down in length to work. I use them in both my 76-77 & 78-80 MC5, MC applications because they are more readily available. If you want to try one of mine, (NEW), I will ship it to you for $50 by US Priority Mail, and if you dont like the way it fits, you can send it back. Mike [email protected]

I just wish they had a better page layout like Al has. No guesswork on parts and prices. Maybe thats why Al's my go to guy.

Britt,
Wow, those are great prices! It seems that is the same that Rob Wager/OZ KTM was charging before his place burned last year. I hope these are still available at that price. Mike
