Title: Mettco VMX Article
Post by: SouthRider on December 31, 2009, 01:47:50 PM
There is a really neat article in the current issue of VMX magazine.

It is one of their "readers rides", and is the story of a tricked out 125 Six Day MX model Mettco replica.

The bike was furnished by none other than our own Ron Carbaugh.

It's a great read.

Don't forget our own Doug Bridges has a great write up in the same issue.

Hmmmm...I think there is one more present that I want from Santa (late request) - a subscription to VMX!

Nope, not Dougs. Doug was mentioned though.

Sorry, in my hast to compliment POG member I sure messed that up.  Well it is corrected and I guess old age is a clear and present danger.

It's all good Ron.
I finially got a subscription to VMX magazine and I'm so glad I did. Ken Smith puts out a first class product and you really do get what you pay for.

I may have thrown Ron off a bit as I had sent him photos of that MC5125 before I traded it to Britt and it looked much as it does now. Britt finished up the restoration and researched the history of the bike and saw to it that it would be published in VMX magazine and Britt deserves credit for promoting the Penton motorcycle and awareness of such to the Vintage world of MX. Nice job Britt and thanks. I am still waiting for my copy of VMX #40 to get here. How long does the mail take to get from Austrailia to here?
Happy New Year!

It takes roughly about a week but it will be worth the wait. There's a lot of cool bikes and stories to read about and if you've never seen a VMX magazine, your really missing out. I like to think of the MC5 as a team effort as Doug layed down most of the dirty work and I just fine tuned it. Thanks Doug!

Does anybody out there know what "METTCO" stands for? Just curious.
Thanks.
