No, the MC5 won't fit. Been there, tried that. I'll have a look at the other tank tomorrow and let you know.

John, I have that tank and frame. I think maybe the tunnel of the tank is a bit narrow at the front to fit the high-breather top tube. And the OA length may be too long - BUT will let you know for certain when I try it on tomorrow.
I have one of those tank, never seen gas, like brand new condition - in the color of light green. So if it fits, maybe you'd be interested to purchase ??
Update tomorrow.

Thanks folks,
My tank is not doing well and will need a lot of work to have right again. A plastic replacementwould be nice to find.

I looked at it today and the tunnel is shaped like the CMF type framed tank I have. The top side of it looks like a GS-6.

John, The Clarke tank (like the one in your link) that I have does not fit the high-breather frames (front width of tunnel is too narrow) - it also does not fit the MC5 frames (too narrow to fit around head tube gusset)
The only Penton that mine fits is a '72 CMF seat breather.

Just like this in #08 green.

rob , britt,
Thank you both. It looked like a good idea if it would clear.
Looks like it will be a bunch of work on my old tank to get thing's right.

There's some tanks on eBay right now that may work.

So, what your saying is that the tank only fit's non-high breather frames. Which model and years did they make those?
