Title: please ID this Penton rider
Post by: OhioTed on January 19, 2010, 08:32:43 PM
This gentleman attended the Penton 40th Anniversary event last year.

He brought out his Steel Tanker, and rode in the parade.

I wish to honor his presence at that weekend with mention in a POG video of the event.  Can anyone provide me with his name?  Thanks very much.

George was an absolute joy to watch all weekend at the 40/10 event. He and his Steel Tanker seem to have the same relationship as Young Ted and Davie do. What a fantastic guy.

Video Ted,
Can't wait to see the finished product and relive that awesome weekend.  I'll bet the grass in John's yard is still recovering from the crowd that visited his home :)

Is that you, Al Born?  I agree with you with the name of the gentleman, George Bliss.   We grew up in the same small town, Avon.  I spoke with him at the 40th anniversary weekend, also.   He had many interesting stories to share.    joe

Thank you, fellows.  I was present when George arrived at the 40th event, and watched as he rolled his trusty Steel Tanker down from his trailer.  With several of us watching, George stowed his walking cane, slid a leg over the Penton, and easily fired it up.  He then joked he was disappointed it took two kicks rather than just one to start.

George is awesome.
