Title: Off Topic: Golf Clubs!
Post by: Mick Milakovic on January 20, 2010, 10:36:26 AM
This is probably a first, but I need to get my daughter Ambr's golf clubs to her down in Pensacola, Florida.  She is in the Navy and has some time while in school to practice for the Navy golf team.  That's right, protecting our country on the land, sea, air, and on the course! Anybody traveling from near Indianapolis to northwest Florida in the next month or so?

I will be at the AHRMA CC race in New Blaine Arkansas March 27-28, if someone can get them there I will take them back with me to P'cola. It's also possible if someone could get them to Gatorback Feb 26-28 I might be able to go over there and get them.

Mick,
Put me in with Jerry's idea.  Get a box and see what it will cost to ship the bag and clubs.
Thanks Jerry.

Brian, Jerry and Ron, thanks so much, you blew me away!  I love the thought, but that's not necessary.  Ambr said she would pay for it, so I'll check on shipping.  I just thought if someone was going that way it would help.  Thanks guys, you're the best! :D

Hi Mick,

As of now Chad and I, along with my two son-in-laws Dave and Jason, are coming to Indy for the SX in Feb.  If you need something hauled back this way to someone heading south let me know.  I am sure we will be paying Charlie and Wilma a visit while in town and we could hook up there.

   Tell Amber Hi form Mars:)

Take care,
Paul

Mick,  What is Ambr's MOS (job)?  Paul, skip the Supercross and come over to the Endurocross in August (27th at Indy)!

We could still pitch in and surprise her, the least we could do.

How about an up to date address??

Paul, I'll be at Charlies' so maybe you can take the clubs and give them to someone traveling south?  We'll keep that as an option.

Kip, she is on air crew, aviation electronics.  Originally, she signed up as a rescue swimmer, but they evaluated an old knee injury as a no-go, so she had to switch jobs.  At least she still gets to fly! [:p]

Ron, the pleasure was all mine, thanks for your help that day!  I only wish I could go this year :(

I'll post an address for her tomorrow.

Mick-Hope Ambr knows how very proud we are of her...she is one top notch gal!! If you could get the clubs our way, maybe via Prez Paul, maybe we could send them down with Cory B. He will be racing the GNCC in Florida and in Georgia, not sure if either track is close to where she is. We might even be able to talk him into delivering them. If not, count us in on helping with shipping them as a surprise to our favorite POG sweetheart!!! Keep us updated.

Toni,

I am going to "The General" GNCC race in Georgia. If you can get the clubs to Cory B I can take them back with me. The Aonia Georgia race is actually closer to Pensacola than the Florida race.

Unless it is a mud race I plan to ride the '77 MC5 400 or my '79 440 Maico.

I will be going through Indy on the way to the POG meeting February 5th.  I can deliver them to Toni at the meeting and if that don't work, I'll donate to the shipping costs also.

Sounds like we might have a very do-able plan here. Rod G. if you could bring them to meeting at AMA museum in Feb., we will get them to Brian K. in Georgia at GNCC to deliver. Maybe we can come up with something for everyone to sign at the meeting for Ambr and send along with them...I will work on that. Now, I guess we should make sure this works for Mick.

Guys, I'm overwhelemed by the generosity of this group!  PayPal would be the simplest plan, but the personal touch you all have offered will make for great bench/tee racing!  I agree with Gary, it sounds like a workable plan:

Mick to Rocket on the way to the POG meeting,
Rocket to Paul at the POG meeting,
Paul to Gary/Cory back in Ohio,
Gary/Cory to Brian in Georgia,
Brian to Ambr in Pensacola.  (This is probably easier than one of Peyton Mannings' pass patterns[}:)])

Brian, you mentioned Aonia Georgia.  Is that the GNCC race they are calling "Washington" Georgia on the schedule?

Yup, thats the one. Aonia Pass MX Park is the name of the facility where the race is held and its near Washington, GA. They have Vintage races there too, I've raced there quite a bit.

Mick,
My daughter just finished up 4 years in the USMC doing aviation electronics.  Came out with three stripes and a lot of maturity she needed when she went in.  She's taking advantage of the GI Bill and going to UNC-Wilmington now, studying physical theraphy/rehab/sports medicine.  Yup, I'm a proud dad, just like you!

Hi All, time to revive this one.  The snow storm blew out our plans, so here are the new options:

1.  My youngest daughter Hollin qualified for the TV round of "Americas Got Talent".  She goes in front of the celebrity judges on February 20 in Atlanta, so we're trying to get Ambr up there for the competition and bring her clubs to her.

If that doesn't work:

2.  Two boys from my school are competing in the Georgia round of the GNCC (one of them won the schoolboy title last year), and they volunteered to take the clubs with them.

Brian, if #2 works out can you still take the clubs back to Pensacola with you?

Thanks to everyone for their willingness to help out,

Mick

Hey Larry, she sang and danced for her high school show choir, but for AGT she is just singing.  Every chance she gets she sings in front of people.  Basketball games, county fair, state fair, and a couple of AHRMA CC races last year! [8D]

She has a fine voice. I heard her at a CC event doing the National Anthem.
