Title: 250 Rebuild question
Post by: Alan Mason on February 01, 2010, 09:10:46 PM
I'm rebuilding my 1975, 250 motor and need to know if there is a shim between the clutch side crankshaft seal and the outer crankshaft bearing. I still have the original dealer parts manuals and they don't show that shim. It's probably been close to 30 years since I rebuilt one and I just don't remember. The shim was there when I disassembled it. Thanks in advance.  Alan Mason

there is a chamfered washer on the 250 that i think they call a thrust washer in the manual. it is not there on a 175. the chamfered edge is towards the inside. i'm assuming that the bearing that you are refering to is the one piece primary bearing. chicago jerry
