Title: D.I.D. aluminum rims WANTED
Post by: t20sl on March 13, 2010, 03:48:08 PM
Anyone have a source for 1.60 x 21" 36 hole and 2.15 x 18" 36 hole NOS DID rims?  Preferably for straight hubs but might accept conical hub style.  Need rims only.  Silver matte finish.
Thanks, Ted

I have a NOS rear DID rim already laced to NOS Penton/KTM Conical hub. I believe that this was built by Buchannons for the seller which had it as a spare for his flat track bike. The spokes are Stainless Steel .160" very thick spokes with a silver rim on a black hub with a new 48 tooth sprocket complete with bearings. I paid $250 for it planning to use it originally on the drag bike project. Make offer. [email protected]

I have a nice DID front rim laced to a Penton black mag (2nd updated version, uncracked) hub. If I remember right the rim has a sorta goldish tint to it.
I heard the DID rims are very strong.

Ted, Please let me know if you still have the DKW ?
Thanks [email protected]

Michael:  Thanks but the holes for nipples would be too large for my OEM spokes.  These nipples measure only .248"  Ted

Ted,
I have a used DID 2.15Bx18 rim that is in good condition. It appears to be straight with only a few scratches. It still has the DID sticker on it. It is a 36-hole rim and was laced to a Penton straight hub. If interested, you can have it for whatever you think it is worth, plus shipping.
