Title: Penton I.D.?
Post by: czechmate on February 12, 2002, 09:51:04 PM
I was hoping someone could identify the year of two Penton/KTM 250's I've purchased. One has full enduro gear with lights, speedometer, tail light, rear tool rack with original leather tool bag, FRAME # 54 407 755 22. The other is set up for Motocross, no lights, small Hi-Point tank, FRAME # 54 3116 92 73. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi. My information tells me you have a 74 made in July and the MX was a 73 made in November.
Thanks, Dan.

Checkmate,
I was curious to see if your enduro model has angled suspension. I have # 54 407 75890 and it is angled. If yours is not angled then we have narrowed down when that change took place in the assembly line.

PS  Are your initials RD by chance?

They are both probably 1974 bikes.  The November of 73 made one was most likely sold as a 1974.

Paul, my "Enduro" has the 45 degree Ceriani shocks with several lower swingarm positions. My mother called me Dino...and I ran for supper! You guys are great, thanks for the info....needed that for ordering small bits and pieces.
