Title: Powder Paint Source
Post by: wfopete on April 27, 2010, 09:45:16 PM

I'm planning on getting my '81 GS frame powder coated, I want to use the correct DuPont p/n YS017 or PPG p/n 61456 paint.  The problem I'm encountering is that powder coating shops in my area don't have this color on their shelf & if they order it I have to buy a lot more then the estimated 5 lbs. required to paint the frame.  Does anyone have a source for this paint color that doesn't require buying more than I need?

Try Eastwood. They have a variety of colors, not sure if it's the right one you're looking for. Also try Dupont. They may be able to send you a chip.

Problem is the paint manufactors want you to buy quite a bit more than needed than for one frame paint job.
