I recall some people over in the KTM group mentioning the Anniversary models, in Jackpiner blue. Nice example, thanks for posting.

I was able to buy a complete used set for mine, years ago. I had posted an inquiry on the KTM Talk web site. It came from  So. Africa of all places. I bought my bike used, and the original plastic had never and has never been used. It had the current years orange and black, and I thought if I could find a set, I would buy it. I have been told that at the time of purchase, you could buy one additional set. I think it may be very hard to find.
I noticed in the pics of the ebay bike that the Ohlin spring is white, mine is yellow. I didn't look too closely, but I have seen one other bike that was being sold as a Jackpiner, but wasn't.

was comparing pics w/my 97'piner,I also have yellow shock spring, airbox cover has 1 screw at the bottom, bike on ebay has a/b cover w/2 like later ktms. I thought only 97 1/2 le's had 50mm Zoke forks.document looks real but bike may not be. these are cool bike and I'd like another, any input from other owners would be appreciated

Search "97 Jackpiner" and Match Exact Phrase option, lots of posts. Several owned by POGers.

Believe all the Ohlin shocks came stock with yellow springs, but not too many different spring rates were available for it. There's an adapter ring made to allow for WP shock springs to work on the Ohlin. Yes, 50mm conv Marzocchi forks with blue adjuster knobs.

Dealers may tell you the blue plastic is not available, or never heard of it, but usually only due to them not having parts numbers for blue and being lazy...Front fndr-502.11.401.100/68; Rear fndr- 503.08.013.100/68; Headlight mask-502.11.401.100/68. Green for th Six Day versions are same, just /51.

KTM still had blue plastic for special order as recent as a year or two ago, very spendy, like $600 for complete set. The owner of KTM Gresham //www.ktmnorthwest.com restored an LE Jackpiner for his showroom a couple years ago and had the graphics made for the fairings etc. Said at the time he could get same done for anyone needing...but not sure the latest, the dealership fell on a bit of rough times I hear.

Looks like the bidding ended with the reserve not being met.  This perked my interest and had to see what one looked like and found the same bike for sale listed as a 1998.

That's the same bike, incorrectly listed again as a 1998 model. Mike

This is what one should look like in original shape:

This is the one the Gresham dealer mentioned above restored. Happens to be on Ebay right now, $5900- I've seen this on the shop floor. It's as new & perfect as pics suggest... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200470733875&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
