Exactly what is the material that makes up the lining in the brake drums/hub? I am guessing cast iron. Since I work in a machine shop, I would like to replace the lining in one.
Or could I use stainless steel? Cast Iron would probably be better just for the heat dispensation alone. Just wondering[?]
I know Woody Graves in Florida installs new liners in brake hubs and he uses cylinder liners from industrial engines. I would imagine cast iron would have the highest friction coefficient.
