Non Penton info but wanted to give a brief shout out for another lucky win for The Desert Monkeys. Me, Tom, and Ric raced and won 125 Expert today at Best In The Desert's Blue Water Gran Prix. As always my teamates did a great job and Tom was a real trooper putting in a great ride while being a little under the weather.
The course today was 11 miles long with multiple loops and my WORCS races earlier this year were a big help as this was very similar-Chewed, grooved, and rutted. Rock, sand, and silt. Even went through a house and wailed through The Blue Water Casino main road. Check this, our pits were on the beach right by the Colorado river. It was 100 plus today so the water felt good after. It was something to see with 3 old guys in lawn chairs sitting up to our rears in the water and my dog Buck swimming around and causing general havoc.
Well so far so good 4-0. We now get a break till late August when we attempt to be the first small bore 2 stroke to finish The 550 mile Vegas To Reno race in a number of years. Thanks for all the support and encouragment.

My brother and two friends (I did pitting duties) finished Vegas to Reno in 1999 (I think) on a 1972 DKW 125.
Socal-I rode and finished it in 99 on an xr400.Don't remember seeing a Deek there so maybe you guys rode the year before or after,or i was just in a daze before/during/after the race.Either way it's quite an accomplishment to go the whole way on a Deek.Casey always puts on a fun race and i'm sure this years vegas to reno will be no exception. If you have the urge to pit for someone again just let us know!;)

I am not 100% sure of the year so it might have been 2000. I have thought about helping with the pitting duties for you but these days family life (wife works Saturdays and a 5 year old son) pretty much takes my time. If you get out here, hit me up and I'll sponsor the beers.
Beer sponsorship sounds great!I'm long overdue for a SoCal visit as i have many friends there.Probably after the summer heat would be a good time-maybe hit a D37 race?Cheers,
Ric
