Wish I could have gone too but money has been in very short supply this year. I may have to sell off my 76 MC5 400 project if things get much worse.

Wow, another wonderful time!  What a huge swap meet and loads of vintage bikes.  Thanks again to the POG and staff for a fantastic time.  Fantastic POG meeting going through Mr "P's" garage and gear bag, cool stuff!  Already getting ready for next year![:p]

This was my first VMD and Im glad that a work issue pushed my trip back east back several weeks and I had the chance to attend.  This was all new to me and I had a great time! I had the opportunity to meet and break bread with Larry Perkins and congratulations to him for his number one plate.  I had great conversation with the outstanding people at the POG tent/display and I'm extremely proud of being a member and a past owner of a 1973 Six-Day.  That beautifully restored Six-Day at the POG display brought back a lot of special memories for me and I enjoyed it all.  The POG display was beautifully done and the dedication and effort that went into it made it stand out at the event.

Thank you all very much!

Fantastic weekend (except for  breaking a master link in the CC)! Kip your bikes were beautiful!  Rob, enjoyed the conversation at dinner immensely. Gary and Dave always my pleasure. Dan thanks for bringing the Rokon, and thanks to everyone who said Hi to Ambr!

I hope I don't embarass him, but I want everyone to know what a fantastice president we have (not the one in Washington).  I was talking with Paul and the subject got around to starting the POG and I could tell he was having a hard time speaking as the emotions overcame him.  Paul, we are so fortunate to have such a caring, honest, and energetic person as yourself to lead us.  Thank you, from the bottom of ALL our hearts, for all you do,

Mick

Thanks again to Mike Winter for the hospitality. Always a good time at Mikes. Also thx to the others who stopped by to chew the fat. Nice to be able to put a name and face together. Probably the most interesting bike there was the one with the tree in the front wheel. From the looks of the growth, it sat a long time. In some spots the tree was almost grown around the spokes. Hopefully Rob got a good pic of it, if not, I know Al did.

Do you clear coat them afer you polish them or just keep polishing them on occasion?

I am an old "Jar Head."  Nothing better than sitting on the garage floor polishing rims and watching John Wayne.  I do, however, clear coat the insides of the wheel hubs and the middle of aluminum straight hubs as they are tough to get to.  My fork legs are bare also on the Pentons.

I just wished I could have brought my Penton with me. Just got it finished late Weds. night, but couldn't get it started. Then again I should have with everybody up there. Nice to meet some fellow poggers.

Dan, I was wondering why I didn't see you.
I had a ball at VMD and met some nice people. Unfortunately, I had a bad trials. I ran the expert line, the Penton ran great and my scores were low. I got an (11) on the first loop, (0) on the second and (2), I think, on the 3rd. I had a pounding headache at the end of the 3rd loop and started late on the 4rth loop. When I got to section 3, I cleaned it. When the scorer went to punch my card .... NO CARD!!!! $&*# I had to go backwards on the loop, all the way to section 2 to find my card off to the side of the trail. By that time it was getting later and by the time I made it to section 6 they were already taking down the ribbons and split markers. I felt like crying .... OK, maybe I did. No one could hear me that far out in the woods anyhow. I couldn't beleive it. All that driving and anticipation, only to DNF. I beat myself up all the way home. But I still had a ball and can't wait till next year.
See you at Snoop's, in the spring.

Thank you for including my mug in with this honored group, Bob.  Great photo.  Looks like I just finished sneezing, or am constipated, or both.  ;)  What a wonderful three days spent at Pentonville.  You all are such great folks.  Thanks as always, to all who made it such a great home away from home.
