Worthless organ anyhow.
Doug,
For a few days afterwards, it will mostly hurt when you laugh - I know - so stay away from anything and anyone that's funny.
Get well very soon, wish you the best.

Doug,
Hang in there...just another 'bump in the road'. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Doug. Hope there's some purty nurses in that hospital. Just act delirious and you can get away with a lot!
I talked to Doug this PM with the permission of his wonderful Bride. There was a problem during surgery as his appendix bust which made a real mess, but as everyone in this Group knows Doug is and has always been the best and a real competitor when the competition gets tough. Doug was always at the forefront of competition during the old days and still challenges the guys today on their set up and how to ride. I will try and keep everyone updated. Thanks for all the kind posts.
Ron Carbaugh
Thanks Ron, you rock buddy.
Doug hang in there, I will be praying and looking forward to a speedy recovery.

Dang, that will leave a scar! Just adding another one to the collection huh? I've had an "Emergency" appendectomy before. You'll feel a heck of a lot better afterwards and wonder "Why did I wait so long?"
Get well soon!

Doug, I hope you will have a full recovery soon. Best place to be when you are ill is in the hospital. Which hospital are you in? Amherst? Lorain Community? We'll miss your smiling face at the next POG meeting, that is unless you feel much better by then. Joe

Hi POGERS,
Just got off the phone with Doug. He is doing fine and hopes to be home no later then this Tuesday. He is a tough old cookie and we would expect nothing less from him. His wife(Dot)Gave him 2 thumbs up and could not wait to get him out of the hospital. Word has it that all of the nurses were of the same opinion.:D
See you down Old Dusty,
Amherst Paul Busick

Hey Doug, Let me know if you would like me to cut your grass. I am just glad there is no snow to shovel this time of year... Joe
Thanks Joe for your offer. I hope Doug gets to Home today.

I talked to Dot today.
Doug finally made it home from the Hospital this morning. He is doing OK and is happy to be home. He is on antibiotics to prevent any infections from the burst appendix. He will not be able to attend the POG meeting on Thursday but should be up and about in a couple of days.
Alan Buehner
Spoke to Dot and Doug, Wed evening. Doug sounded weak but in good spirts.
Dwight
Doug was scheduled to do the "what's in your garage" portion of the POG meeting tonight, I wonder if this hospital stay was possibly a cover to get him out of doing the presentation :)
Just as little Johnny found out when he missed school on the day of the big test because he " didn't feel good ", Uncle Dougie will be making up his "test" at the next meeting.
I just might have to drop by the Wilford place on the way to tonight's meeting for a surprise visit to check out the situation.
All kidding aside, I know my life is much richer because of Doug and hopefully he will be back up to speed shortly, I also know he sure couldn't ask for a better nurse.
Paul
Doug, glad to hear you are home, wish I could be there to hear you talk on, "What is in your Garage" maybe some day

Hey, did I get taken for a ride? [:0]
Is Dot covering up for Doug so he doesn't have to do "what's in my garage"???
Paul - you better see a note from Doug's doctor when you visit him tonight to make sure that he is on the up and up.
Doug - I wish you the all the best and a speedy recovery. :D

Doug's credibility is still intact. I stopped by the Wilford home yesterday before the POG meeting and visited with Doug, I even saw the top portion of his scar...he did indeed have the surgery :)
I am glad to report that Doug looked pretty darn good and that he was in excellent spirits. It looks to me that it won't be long till he is back at it.....
The next POG meeting is scheduled for September 2, be sure to attend if you can as Doug Wilford is scheduled to present his version of " what's in your garage " ..... ought to be interesting.
Doug, I can bring the dump truck out and pick you and your items up if needed :D.
Paul
Good luck Doug , speedy recovery , sure you will out and about right after the operation.
Larry
Paul,
Thanks for the good report. Good news! Good news indeed!
Doug, you remain in my thoughts and prayers.

Doug, glad to hear you are doing so well,, How about filming the presentation or web casting it or maybe you tube... would love to hear what is said....

Hello to all! Thanks for your prayers, cards and concerns. One week has gone by and I am doing great! So far the doctors are super happy with the procedure as it came about. The little glitch is they wanted to do the procedure micro-scopic. that changed when the bag broke on removal.
Now it is time to get my strength back.
Thanks again for your support.
Have Fun!
Doug
