Title: Fuel petcock
Post by: kenbike on August 18, 2010, 05:45:57 AM
My right side fuel petcock leaks pretty bad on a 75 250cc fiberglass tank, what is the best option to repair or replace and a source for parts?
Thanks!

Al Buehner should have what you need. His website is on the "Suppliers" link on the Home Page....check the link I provided below.

Hi Ken,
I don't mean to suggest you don't know this already.
FYI, the petcocks have both a right and left hand threads.
Make sure you have the petcock turned up tight (left hand threaded petcock)
against the tank outlet, before you tighten the nut (right hand threaded) to the tank.
If they are not installed properly (even new ones) they will leak.
You can play with the fittings to locate the lever where you want it.

Thanks for the help, I did not know about the right and left hand threads.  I will get on Al's sight!
