Title: Berkshire vs. Hodaka 2
Post by: Mickey Sergeant on October 24, 2010, 09:03:31 PM
My stock Berkshire couldnt keep up with the super rat at my local tracks. So I decided to spend some $. With a pvl ignition and modified pipe and porting done, still has stock bing it ran like a rocket.I couldnt believe how fast it was.Know one in site of me at checkered flag. The hodaka guys couldnt believe how fast it was.Thats the good news. The bad news is I think I sheered the selector key in the second moto,To much hp.Did a visual check.Counter sprocket didnt spin off.No in or out play. From clutch side everything in place, lots of metal shavings in oil.Looks like I will be splitting the cases.I wont have to worry about not having a winter project

I heard that your 100 would pull up the front wheel (even with 35mm forks) in every gear on that the deep sandy loam track! I would say a tad Bit of HP. LG

Shift gently.  Replace the selector key with a high quality part, such as an original Sachs part or J.P.Morgan part.  I do not like to hear stories about exploding vintage motorcycles.
