I was speaking to a Franciscan Brother who is in charge of St Aloysius Outreach in downtown Detroit and he was telling of the need for food and clothing and cash donations. The weather is turning cold, unemployment is at an all time high and the people he serves are depending on St Als as they have no where to go.Serving hundreds of meals per day and offering warmth in the Michigan winter, this ministry is life-saving.As a way to raise funds I would like to make an offer to you all: Make a donation(tax deductible ) to St Aloysius Outreach of at least 5000 $$ and I will give you my 1976 Husqvarna 175... I just finished a full restoration and have the original owners book and his notes..I can send photos ..This is a rare blue tank cross-country model...Let me know if you have any thoughts on this as I am doing this to help Brother Al and his ministry. This is 'out of the box' thinking but these are unreal times in our area. May God continue to bless us all and may we give thanks for all the blessings God gives us!......Thanks for reading and Happy Thanksgiving! sincerely,Greg Elliott
Wish I could donate, but money is a little tight. It sounds like a good idea though! Plus you could get a $5000 in chairitable deductions, plus a bike. Sounds win win to me. Or you could raffle it off at say $100 per ticket. I'm sure there's 50 people on this forum that would get one or more.
