Title: 34mm Mikuni jetting
Post by: skiracer on December 12, 2010, 07:17:25 AM
Is anyone running a 34mm Mikuni carb?  I bought a new one, and I need a starting point for my jetting.  Thanks, James

I would start with a main jet, Needle and pilot jet.  Maybe a good idea to put on a motorcycle first.  LOL
Be sure that it is legal on the model bike you are trying to put it on first.  Classic and Sportsman class bikes are limited to size carbs that are legal.

Joe and Dwight,

You guys are funny!  A sense of humor is a good thing!  The carb is going on a 76 175GP Husky.  The bike is going to be used mainly for MX, with some vintage enduro too, such as the RR.  Of course the carb came with a set of jets, but I would like some help fine tuning them.  Thanks, James

I would probably look to see what a Husky 125 with a VM Mikuni takes and downsize slightly to start.
You might look to see what jets are in an IT175 Yamaha as a point of reference.

Thanks Dwight!  Have a great Christmas.  James
