Title: Hare Scrambler Paint Color
Post by: Michael Hickey on January 08, 2011, 01:45:17 PM
I need to paint the side panels on my 74.5 Hare Scrambler. Has anyone used the Ford red 206 (bright red)? Did you like the results? Also, I have tried finding the GM red 7152 (Tomato Red), but I am not having any luck. This leads me to believe that Plastikote no longer makes it. Are there other spray can alternatives that you have used--and liked?

Thanks,
Michael

Go to supplier links and look at the end of Tom Brosius site.
He sell fiberglass body parts and does list some paint codes for various bikes.

I purchased my side panels from Tom and got the paint codes off his site. What I would like to know is if anyone has used either of the red paints (Ford or GM), and if they were pleased with the results.

Hi Mike, at one time gm7152 was avail. can't locate a supplier at this time. You could go to an auto paint supplier and get a rattle can in AC Cobra Performance red. Plasti-kote #229 clear should help the protect the paint.

My Parents have a Mustang that is Ford Performance Red and it is exactly the same color as the Hare Scrambler tank I have on my Berkshire.
