How can I tell if a Penton fiberglas tank has been coated with Por 15 or simular product ?
I aquired a 175 that the tank had been repainted, but I dont know if it has had anything done to the inside?
We are going to do a re-paint on the outside, as the job they did wasnt very good compared to the rest of the bike.
Also I will need some Jackpiner decals. Not sure if Al has them or not, but if anyone knows where I can get them, let me know.

Take a knife blade that is not very sharp and try to scratch the surface of the backbone inside the tank, directly below the filler neck. An uncoated tank will easily scratch, disturbing the fibers noticeably, while a POR-15 coated tank will be hard to even scratch noticeably, and the fibers will stay undisturbed. There are not that many tanks out there that have been POR-15 coated, since it has just been recommended and discussed within the last couple of years. Mike
