Title: 1976 Swedish GP
Post by: Gavin Housh on January 31, 2011, 09:59:21 PM
This story is about a close friend of mine that owned a steel tank Six Day back when we we were in Jr High School. When we graduated high School in 1976 his mom gave him a trip to Europe that summer. He had a Eur-rail pass that enabled him to go to all the western countrys at will. He was travelling on the train one day when he noticed a man on the train with some kind of brief case or suit case that was covered in KTM stickers. My friend decided that he should ask the gentleman if he knew anything about Penton Motorcycles. It turned out that this guy was some sort of KTM rep or such and he was headed to Sweden to attend the GP. Who ever this guy was he had an extra ticket for my friend and asked him to come along. When he came home and showed me all the KTM stickers the guy gave him I asked where he got them. When he told me his story I was floored. I had to read about it in the issues of Dirt Bike and Motorcoss Action Magazines. I still have those mags today and still wish I had been there.

I believe that he did have a camera on that trip but when I ask him about old pics we never get past the topless ones of old girl friends. Sorry Larry but it wouldn't be tastefull to post those? Hahahaha...
