Title: Penton Identification
Post by: flattracker23 on March 04, 2011, 05:28:12 PM
I picked up another Penton parts bike today. Frame number is 54 504 83657. Motor number is 5-5407302. I am thinking it is a 1974 1/2 Penton 250. Does anybody know. I will ad a picture when I get home.

54 504 83657. 1975 made in April of 1975, basically the same as a 74-1/2, but made in 75, (504).  5-5407302 250 Engine also produced in 1975 (5-54). Mike

Thanks for the reply. I should have known that from the frame number but I am a little rusty. I was thinking 1974 1/2 from reading the Production Year Guide but now I see it is a 1975.

What model would it be? It looks more like a motorcross bike than an enduro. It has a smaller narrow tank on it and does not look like it ever had lights on it. Is it still called a Hare Scrambler?

It was called a 250 Hare Scrambler but the only difference in the MXer and the Enduro was tank, pipe, and lights.  Same bike.
