Title: Marzocchi shocks
Post by: Mike Lenz on March 07, 2011, 09:41:47 AM
Anyone have a large shaft from a Marz shock.  I need one to make up a good set...that is if anyone has found seals. Rod, found any seals?
Thanks
Mike

I have had the seals and shaft wipers reproduced, just got another order in last week.  I do not have any shafts, very hard to come by.

Mike,
I have a pair of 12mm Marzocchis on a 77 175 MC5 and one of the shocks have the top housing broken. I will have to check when I get back home from working out of town on Thursday, but I think they have good shafts. I would let the broken one go cheap if it has a good shaft. Mike

Michael
I am always interested in Marzocchi shocks and parts.  Do you want to sell the one good shock?  I will buy them both if Mike doesn't want them.
thanks

Rod,
I thought about buying the single shock that provenancevmx has for sale on eBay for $49.95 plus shipping to make a pair, but I will let you know after I get home and inspect the shafts. Mike

Took the other shock apart and it has bad pretty bad pitting on the shaft, so now it looks like I need two shafts! Mike I wiuld be interested in your broken one.

Don't throw the old shafts away, could be used for a restoration rebuild only or maybe getting them rechromed.

Mike,
I just finished setting up our band, Midnight Special, for a gig this Saturday night, which is the Shriners benefit night here in Newton. I looked at the shocks before coming inside and they look OK, but I just glanced at them and will remove them tomorrow and fully assess their condition. Mike[8D]

Rod,
One shaft is bent.  I will send you the other one so you can maybe use it someday.

Hi guys...some years ago when I was rebuilding a 74 250..I purchased a set of "rebuild kits" to suit Marzocchi shocks ....got new shafts seals etc..when they arrived they were bigger than the shafts in the shocks I had...so..I think approx I had 10 or 12mm shafts and the new ones were 13 or 14 ish ..not sure...anyway ...I have two complete  shocks (dis-assembled) but would require some mods to get the damper tubes etc to work with the new shafts I have....Have no use for them now anyone interested...Oh..they are in Australia
