Title: Parts ID help - headlight
Post by: rob w on April 03, 2011, 10:18:54 AM
Has anyone ever seen this headlight before. It has been on a 1969 Penton all it's life.
Has recessed back, not flat. There are no stampings / markings anywhere. Check out how the lens protrudes out around the bulb for clearance.
Just curious, thanks.

Hi Rob,
My best guess is the light is a Hella. The chrome ring looks the same as a '68.  Here's a pic of a NOS '68 ring, showing the Hella sticker and the same mounting screw setup.(http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t47/nsujeff/P4030313.jpg)

The lens is anyone's guess.
Good Luck,
Jeff

I think I remember seeing one of these in Italy.  Germany is so strict with its laws that it would have to have a name on it and a number.  When I worked for Honda I was shocked to know that even handlebars had to be approved.....Speedy we need you help.
