Hi Greg,
Are you looking for a Steel Tanker or the later fiberglass tank model? MX or enduro ? Not saying I have these bikes, but this information might help in your search.
Good luck,
Paul
Hello. I would like a steel tanker and need lights..as I am not the best Penton mechanic I would prefer it runs well.I have cash or can trade my Husky cross country 175 for the right bike.G
Greg,
You have set your sights high, but hopefully one will come your way. I am sure you probably already know this, but there are far less Berkshires in the land of Pentons than 125cc Six-Day models. Possibly if you find the perfect machine minus the enduro / light kit, you could ad those items, just a thought.
Here is a photo of a nice Berkshire enduro taken from the POG photo gallery.

Either way, good luck with your search.

Now that's what I'm talkin about! Paul thanks for the great advice. greg
It might not be a bad idea to buy what is available, then build it into exactly what you want. The cosmetic difference between the Berkshire and Six-Days is the red vs the green fuel tank. I have never seen a Berkshire with the very early style air box. Does anyone know if there where any Berkshires with the early style air box? Joe
Joe,
I have owned several original 1968 Berkshires with the early box.
Greg,
I have several NOS Red tanks for sale if you need one. I also have several steeltankers that need to be finished.

Greg,
Here is another Steel Tank Berkshire for you to feast your eyes on, only it is in MX trim. This one is owned by POG member John Born and is on display at this time at the Quaker Stake and Lube restaurant in Vermilion, Ohio. If you get over that way sometime be sure to stop in and feast your eyes as you feast on some wings :) They have it displayed in a pretty neat spot in the restaurant.

Joe,
You might want to talk with Al Born about that issue the next time you see him, he just might have been the first person to ever race a 100cc Penton. If I have the story right, Al was racing a Honda 90 when John approached him about riding the "new" Penton, Al said he would consider it if he could ride the 100cc version, but at the time there actually weren't any. Al went on to buy V 03 as a 125cc machine with assurance from John that he would work on getting him a 100cc. On day Al went into the shop as Tom was finishing some work on Al's bike, a motor switch.....John had gotten a 100cc engine.

Thank for all your help! The more I see the Berkshire the cooler it is.I grew up on a 100cc Hodaka and love these little bikes. The backstories on these early machines make them very special..thanks again. Greg
