Title: Stripped Threads
Post by: Mick Milakovic on April 27, 2011, 08:40:36 PM
Hi All,
Jarrin's KTM 125SX has stripped oil drain plug (in the case) threads.  He thought he did it, but when I inspected I saw a glob of JB weld on the end of the plug (I was able to pick it off with my finger nail).  I'm assuming a previous owner stripped the threads, then tried fixing with JB.  It actually held for one previous oil change we did, but not this time.

My question is, what are my options for fixing, short of buying a new case?  Thanks in advance,

Mick

Recoil or Helicoil products work great!
