OK, I'm going to share this, even though 99.9% of you may already know this, but I just bought an aluminum bike stand for Harbor Freight and it is awesome! 50 bucks and it is the perfect size for Vintage bikes and its weight is nothing! It is called "Low Profile Aluminum Rear Motorcycle Spool Stand" Part number 99701, brand is Haul Master. I know is was made for crotch rockets, but it works perfect on my 69 Kawasaki and my 74 Penton and my 70 Penton.

They are for sale in the motorcycle industry for substantially more. Don Burgess found them here a few years ago. The shipping is even reasonable.
This will bring a bike up to almost eye level - which is great for old tired backs & knees.
I have one that I bought after seeing Gary Ellis working on bikes in his shop with them. I also bought one of their slightly larger rolling lift carts and converted one to a bike stand with a larger surface for tools and close to the same height capability. Mike

I have the #66552 (below)and the full size 1000 pound hydraulic lift, from Harbor Freight. They both work great. The small one is a low profile stand that slides under the bike and then you step on the pedal to raise the bike off the ground. I drilled and extra hole to keep it in the down position for transport. Just remember to put the pin in while it is up. All you have to do is touch the release lever with your knee and the bike comes down fast. Can get ugly. Can also cause uncontrollable cursing. Seriously though, hard to go wrong for $30.00, especially if you also have a coupon.
