Title: 100 berkshire chain pitch
Post by: Kurt Adams on June 05, 2011, 09:53:01 PM
Hey guys.  I'm looking to buy a chain for my bike (73 - 100cc) and I'm not sure what chain pitch it uses, or how to measure the pitch.  I "think" it's a 428 because that number sticks in my head, but I really have no idea.

Does anyone know what the chain pitch should be?

How do I measure the old chain to tell what was on it.

Thanks!
-Kurt

Its a 428. With a 13/57 130 links is almost perfect, I think I might have cut it down to 128 when I switched to 12/57.

Make sure you buy a "standard" 428 chain as the heavy duty and others drag on the guide and block.;)
