Off topic but wondered if anyone knew who won that beautiful "78" ISDT 350 Jawa a few days ago. Went a little high for me but would be cool to restore.[?]
Kip,
Not a bad price, I was defintely interested but it would have been $7500 by the time I got it back to the UK. I've got one anyway and far too many bikes already.

Kip,
Drew Smith's father has a new one that never had gas in it, a 1978 twin plug 402 similar to the 350 that just sold, he only wants $12K for it :-))), i have personally been to his place and seen it, here are a couple pics i shot about 3 years ago,

the Smith's had a shop called North Jersey Cycle Sales,
they sold all the cool GS bikes from back then,
ie: Penton, Hercules, Dalesman, Puch, Greeves, Jawa, etc,etc !!
today Drew is the owner of WER {Works Enduro Rider}
they make steering dampeners and do suspension work,
Mr. Smith Sr. still has his 74 Jawa GS 350 that he rode back in the day,
cool bike !!

Mike awsome photos! Was that the new Jawa that was offered in the AMA Auction a few years back? It too had never been started and the reserve was 12K. Growing up, my neighbor was a Jawa CZ dealer. I saw 2 Banana frame 402's that he had shipped in new and assembled them. Also, new MZ ISDT bikes. They were amazing!
Kip,
yes, that is the one,
the bids got up to $10K but Mr. Smith held his ground with his reserve !!
most likly the only one left in the USA like it ??
HOW COOL !!!!
