I'am home from the AHRMA Athens, Ohio CC event. The event was very good. Seem to be a good turn out. It was a little wet to start with, But got better as the day went on. I seen a few Pentons at this race. My Jackpiner ran great!! (and so did the Husky) Later, Gene

I thought it was a good Penton turnout but than it was Ohio, after all. Gary Roach is ungodly fast. What a race he had going. He acts like there was no mud at all. Good to see you, Gene. I'll see you at Mountainfest.

Finally got to see the faces behind some of the names I see here.
My Penton ran better than I did! (It was my first real ride of the yeae) Still having trouble with the throttle hanging up on a missed shift, but still had a great time.

Thanks for the complement. I grew up riding in the Athens area, so I learned at a very young age on how to ride in the mud because that's only stuff we had to ride in. :D

I wasn't allowed to race when I was younger and only started back riding dirt in my 40's. Mom still hates motorcycles.

I guess it's on to MidOhio next and Gary, I will bug you again about that clutch. LOL

It had rained on Friday night, so the track owner, Drew Wolfe, got up real early Saturday morning and scraped the mud off of the Motocross track with his dozer. Practice was a little bit muddy, but after that, the track was nearly perfect.

i thought the course was way to open, great area, great people, but no trees, logs,creeks.not even a rock it was pretty much a mx

I did not get to ride but saw a helmet video of a lap from their past hare scramble and it was all woods. Glad I couldn't ride. Don't like MX. Drew must have had water problems in the woods or just took the easy way out??

From what I understand ( I was there last year for the team hare scrambles)' close to 1.5 miles of mostly single track was eliminated from the course due to the rain and because they couldn't get a bull dozer in those areas.

I don't really like mx either, they eliminated the hills in back due to the previous nights down pour for the mx event. BUT, I didn't mind the course so much as it was my first real ride of the year and I was breaking my Penton in.
