Looks like a porcupine head and a later model pipe.

Nice pictures, Dale..and thanks.  I now have a half a photo of me in XC race from 2010!  The only one.  And I'm sitting on the starting line.  Hah!

QUESTION to fellow POG racers - a small "ethical" quandry for me concerning these AMA races.  As everyone knows - this is a once a year race - with what I would characterize as a fairly "uneven" participation from year to year.  A few AHRMA XC fast guys show up, but a LOT of them don't.   Well - I won the 200 XC Vintage Intermediate class in 2010.  Should I move up and race Expert in 2011?  In my NE/NA series, I am still an Intermediate racer and have gotten my ass handed to me on more than one occasion in that series.

It's no big deal.  I know that in 2010, there were 2 or 3 experts that finished in front of me - and they were no slouches (Adam Giddings, John Frackelton, someone else that passed me near the end on a Can-Am).  I am good with getting schooled by these guys BTW.

I guess it's just weird because these "championships" don't have any rules per se, no points or feeder series, etc.

What would YOU do, fellow POG racers?

Thanks for the MX photo, Dale.  I saw that one.

Believe it or not, my MX experience is not as fond of a memory as the XC races at Mid-Ohio.  Adam Giddings may be able to beat a bunch of Elsinores on his Pentovarna, but I found it a bit more of a challenge.

In fact, the Six Day will probably only see XC duty this year at VMD.  Okay..maybe flat track.  ;)

Stay intermediate.

I thought about going to Mid-Ohio this year, but I'm so out of shape I would be an embarrassment to the Penton fans. I plan to go next year, in shape, and intend to beat as many El-Snores as possible with my 100. I figure its only fair if they have to ride those ill-handling piles of junk, I should spot them 25cc right?

As a side note, man those are really low bars, do you like them? I dont think I could ride with bars that low.

Good eye, Brian. They ARE way too low.  After mounting my first set of the Renthal Mini-Highs on the MC5, it was like a spiritual awakening.  I have a brand new set of Mini-High's in the garage to mount on my Six Day.  They are the only way to go.

Now..what should I do with that "D" cylinder that Gary Ellis slipped into my parts bin last year at Mid-O? Set up my 30mm Mickey and mount 'em up?  Of course, Ellis is salivating at that prospect as he sets up some 38's for my MC5.  Ka-ching.  No doubt he will want small unmarked bills in a plain brown paper bag.

And thanks for your input w/r to the "championships". TODAY..I realized that it just may not be financially do-able to visit Lexington, OH this year.  If I can talk two other guys to share gas, trailer, and hotel with me it might be manageable.  We've got till 17th or 18th for pre-register.

Finally - we miss YOUR racing reports and film this year, which are slightly more successful than my efforts. :D  Ernie Phillips is also pretty busy with Life As We Know It and hasn't been able to race much this year- he's my other hero on these boards.

You should try to make it to the ISDT Reunion Ride instead. Its later in the year so you have time to save/plan for it.
