I don't see very much information on the next ISDT Bent Wheels rounds 3 and 4 AHRMA race. Is there anyone that can give us a preview of this event?
Some details are in the July and August issue of Vintage Views.
Mostly just times, directions & motels.
I understand the course should be fairly fast especially if the CCC is out there with their machine and get the trail groomed.

I hope the trails are like the ones I've seen in some of the YouTube videos. They look very fast and flowing, my favorite.

Brian, Hope to see you and other POG members up there. Looking forward to some cooler Michigan riding!

I still dont know that I can go, and I still have NO idea what bike or class I will ride. If its as fast as it looks I want to ride the '79 Maico 440, anyone want to start it for me at the resets? Or at least carry a booster stand for my short butt? :D
Brian
Brian, I guess you can use the "stump method" like we use in NC.
Why don't you bring three bikes? Maybe you'll make up your mind on bike/class during the trip up.

Yes, We need more info for sure.
Gene, I use the stump trick, but I can never find one when I really need it.
Pete, I am planning on bringing two bikes if I go, and if I can work the deal, bringing another Maico home with me.

If anyone is staying at the club grounds for the weekend it will be $20 and $10 if anyone is getting a hotel or has other means for a place to stay (off the grounds). Also please spread the word that Michgan ORV/Trail Permits or Permits from other states are HIGHLY recomended. The club will have Michigan ORV/Trail Permits for sale at Registration for $16.25
The Bent Wheels Competition Club is putting on the 2 day qualifer event. The event is located at the Badlands Entertainment Complex & Motel @ 605 N. Williams Street Rose City, MI 48654 located on M-33. The clubs grounds are behind the complex. Primitive Camping (no camp fires),porta jons on site. Camping gate fee is $20.00 for the weekend. There will be 50-60 miles of trail on day 1 and 30-40 miles on day two.
I wonder if lights and a license plate are required?
You would think all this information would be on the AHRMA website or the Bent Wheels website. I guess this race is a big secret.
Weather.com and Accuweather both show a good chance of rain next weekend in Rose City. Just sayin...
Brian
I cant really find anything on the event at the Bent Wheels club website either.

I've decided I am going to bring a Sportsman Open and the Maico if I go. I'll put the MC5 400 engine in a '74.5 chassis this weekend, that way I can also race it in Historic if I want too. I sure hope that big flywheel helps.

I just got home from Michigan. Great event!!! Thanks to the guys at Bent Wheels for putting on a first class event. I had great time. I learned alittle about riding in the sand. Stay on the gas!! Feet on the pegs and look far, far ahead. I hope we go back next year!!!
Hi fellow POGGERS,
I have got the unloading done and sand is everywhere. Now the maintance will begin and the repair. [V] I will now be known as the guy on the rattling PE. The PE made it through both days. But at the final check on Sunday the kick stater quit. So I had to have a push to get going for the MX. I was doing well until I took a FLOP on the last lap about a 100 feet from the finish. No kick starter required pushing to the finish. I was passed by my competition and ended in 2nd place. Way to go Whitey. I still got my golds for both days and had a hell of an adventure and that included the mom and pop motel we stayed in.
Chi Jer had a better weekend. He also took 2 golds and the team that he was on took home the gold too.
I want to thank Gary Roach for his help in getting me and the PE up a very loose sand up grade. He and his wife Toni had a couple of fun days. Matter of fact everybody there had a smile on. I would also like to thank the HODAKA rider that helped push me to the MX finish line. Who says HODAKA riders aren't good guys? :D
I also want to thank all of the Bent Wheel club members for all of their HARD work. They were every where doing anything they could to give us a great ride. Thanks again Fellows.
If you weren't there - you missed a good one. --------- Brian.
See you all down Old Dusty.
