I will soon need a leather tank strap for my 1977 400gs6 project. Anybody have a source on a reproduction or on a NOS strap?

Steve have you already tried Al Buehner? I am looking back in his fliers that he sends me and in Dec 2000 pg6 he list them for $40.00.

Steve,
I had this same issue. I took my old strap ) to my local shoe repair shop (if you have one ) and had the guy buff/clean out the old strap. It turned out good as new, and was very pleased. You may wish to take a dremel to the buckles and clean them up first. They can be buffed out also. I forgot,I also had him put in new rivets.
This also set it off.

Thanks Thomas & Harris...I believe mine is too far gone to salvage....but it might be good enough for a pattern....Maybe the shoe shop guy can make me a new one.....
