Title: Need Girlings for 73 Jackpiner
Post by: Keith Meatyard on September 04, 2011, 08:10:11 PM
I'm looking for a pair of good original Girling shocks that have nice chrome on the shafts for the restore of my 73 Jackpiner.  These were all black, even the springs, and without any covers.  I can repaint the black parts.  The numbers on the bottoms of my existing, rusted shafts shocks is 64052605C DE47.  I have no clue what the numbers mean.

Thanks for any help,

Keith Meatyard

Keith,
According to the Girling 1974 catalogue your units should be No. 2605. The number you quoted is for a part of the unit, not the complete unit.
The 2605 is 12.9" extended, 10.4" compressed with an 8" dual rate 60/90 spring. (2.5" shock travel WOW!)
