Well, I spent the weekend over at Hancock, NY for some vintage CC and MX. I ran the CC with my PE 175, (sorry guys) won my class, and took third overall in the PV class. The course was fun. A couple nice tight sections with wet rocks, tree roots, and other typical NE woods surprises, a really nice grass section that included lots of mud, and some fast sections through the woods. Sunday was the MX on a very fast track. The track had some good elevation changes, nice jumps, a lot of sweeping corners, and long, fast straights...... I did okay; 25 bikes off the line in the first moto, came out of the first turn in 6th, ended the moto 3rd in my class. Second moto, 4th through the first turn, finished 2nd for the moto, and second overall. It was a fun event with a very good turnout. They also had a vintage trials on Saturday which was cool to watch. The oldest bike was a 1947 Areil (?) spelling? that was in awesome shape. The owner won his class. So that's it from the NE racing scene....Until next time!

Thanks for the update and congrats on your results. You had a full weekend! I really wanted to do the the Hancock CC - those Southern Tier/Catskill woods like like a lot of fun.
Alas - I wasn't there and I haven't ridden since a mid-July. Here's why: 1) Bought A New House, 2) Gotta come up with closing costs, 3) Gotta flip the current house which I've lived in since '92.
I was consumed. Worked for 21 days straight (evenings, weekends, vaca) to get This Old House ready for sale. Basically Curb Appeal 101. We just listed, got some interest, we'll see...
But I'll be surprised if I can sign up for anything this Fall given current "challenge". (You know..I can just picture Gary Ellis rolling his eyes right now....)
Anyway - miss my Northeast racing scene, glad somebody is out there carrying the Penton banner. Congrats again, Skiracer! :)
Thanks Bob. I'm trying my best to live up to the Penton reputation. People love to see the bikes out there.... Good luck with the house!

Sorry I missed you too! I was parked up next to the starting area by Billy Burns. Did you have a good time? Yes the track was in good shape. You should come to Alex Snoops this Saturday in Warwick, NY He has 10 miles of trail, a grass track, and a full MX track. All the riding you want! If you need more info, let me know. James

Great rider race photos have been put up by Jim Sauderson from Hope Creek. You be styling, James.

Of course, so does Blazing Burns, the fastest Vintage racer east of the Mississippi (hate to issue that challenge Mike Murphy...):
