Title: Will this tank fit my frame?
Post by: DougDyar on September 06, 2011, 11:09:22 AM
I'm looking at a MX style fuel tank on ebay, and it is listed as coming off a newer bike than my Dec 1972 Jackpiner with the non-high breather CMF frame.

Can anyone tell me if it will fit my bike?

Here's the link:

I'd say it would work fine. Al B. should have the petcock rebuild kits.

So there're no issues putting a high breather tank on a low breather frame?

This is Victor's 73 as shown on the featured bikes section that Ron got from Victor and I got it from Ron.  Tank looks good and fits fine

I liked the toaster tank and it looks like this today

I'm the high bidder. Thanks for not bidding against me, guys.

I'm pleased. I could not get my tank restored for what I paid.

Thanks Mikey
Things are still a bit slow in Tucson, but I'm living the dream.

I pinch myself everyday I get to look at these bikes, they're real beauties.

Hope all is well with you and hope we cross paths again soon.  Take care, Skip

I'm pretty sure they're Excel Takasago Signature Series Rims.  I'll check tonight and if it's something else I post up.  Skip

Thanks - My rims are a little rusty, and I'm considering replacing them in aluminum. I'd like to buy the rims and spokes through the mail and have my local shop lace and true them.

Any words of wisdom before I take the plunge?
