Title: Falk Front Fender
Post by: MikeMurphy on September 27, 2011, 09:26:46 AM
How can you tell if a Falk front fender is original
or the knock off's they make now? I found a NOS  white front one that says  HI-POINT   Dirt Champion Faulk   Product of W.Germany
But the name is more of a silk screen, not a molded name like
a Preston Petty.

Thanks

MIke, is it opaque white?  I have one on my BMW that is a Falk with the red silk-screened High Point logo and it is opaque white.  It is an old stock piece I got from Letko when they were thinning out their old Penton stock years ago.  Nice fenders!

Jeff,
It's a solid white one. I remembered after I posted this question
that I have had this for many years and it's still in the bag, so it must be original Falk.
You want to buy it?  Would be nice on a restoration unit.

All the plastic on my '77 MC5 is matte finish solid white and also has those "HI-POINT Dirt Champion Faulk Product of W.Germany" logos on them. The finish is strikingly similar to the DC Plastics stuff though, if not for those logos I would have assumed it was DC stuff.

Murph,
Let ChiJerry grab it up.  If I get it, it will sit on a shelf and gather dust for years until I figure out what to do with it.  ChiJerry will put it to good use much quicker than me on one of his racers or restorations!
