Title: shock choice
Post by: Steve Minor on April 24, 2002, 06:26:08 PM
I'd gladly take any advice or opinions from anyone in reference to a new set of shocks. Right now I'm leaning toward "Works" but it's open for discussion....

Any opinions?

As far as modern shocks go I think the major ones are in the order of price with Ohlins, Works Performance, and Progressive being one-two-three.  For Post-Vintage Pentons I am still fond of the Marzocchis over all of the others.  Just make sure they are rebuilt and the larger shafts.  One opinion.

Steve ,
 i went with Works on my last two KTM , Pentons. ( 78/ 400 , and 73/ 125 ).
they worked great and were set up for me when i got them.
If you can afford them they would be my choice.
John

I like Ohlins for the short travel bikes. they have a little more compression damnping than works which I feel is a plus with only four inches of travel. With the longer travel bikes I dont think you can beat Works with their costum damnpening and spring rates .
