False alarm [V] - I spoke with the fellow I was thinking about. Turns out they were attached to a Monark, and that is now back in the old country.

Hello Guenther my friend!

I need 6 speed cases, but could get by with a set of 5 speed.
I think I have enough parts to build either one.

Thanks

I thought you could use either transmission in either large crank or small crank case. Aren't the mainshaft and layshaft the same length for five and six speed systems? Sachs just made the gears thinner, and changed the number of slots in the mainshaft for engagement of the selector key for the six speed. I would assume that the "stuffed cases" only will take the small crank and that you can put either trans in those cases. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

I've used the five speed transmission in a set of 125 1/6B cases.
