I have this new project bike, a 1976 175, and I don't know the official name for it. Any help? Thanks. James
1976 MC 5 Original Owner
1980 KTM GS
1982 Suzuki PE 175
1976 Husqvarna 175GP
2002 KTM 200 EXC
1975 Jackpiner (project)
1976 Penton 175 (project)
Names: Six-Day, Jackpiner, Hare Scrambler, and Mint were dropped after '75 model year.
In '76 all the off-road/enduro models were called "Cross Country".
Thanks Rob! James

In 76 the 175 was a GS. IN 77 it was a GS6. Hope this helps. Later Gary
I was just going by what's written in the "Production Year Guide" here.
1976
* Model line diverged into two distinctly different models - the MC5 and the Cross Country
* December 1975 brought the debut of the new 125cc KTM engine with 32mm Bing carburetor
* 125cc engine has black cylinder and head fins with "125 KTM" cast in side of cylinder with silver gear box - all other
engine sizes are totally finished in silver

Hey Rob, Very cool insert! Thanks so much for the effort, and information. That's what makes this such a wonderful site! Thanks again, James
