Title: Steel Tanker info needed
Post by: thrownchain on November 29, 2011, 10:12:22 PM
Was there more than one type of speedo bracket used for this?  I'm not talking the crossbar mounted style, but the stamped steel version. I have one that is similar to the stamped steel, but looks to be "folded" brass? If it's a "one off" someone went to alot of work to do it. Or is this an early version before a production version was made? I'll try to get some pics posted tomorrow for better clarity.

You'll notice in the top 2 photos that it's just flat, no structual strenghtening. In the other photos, there are parts that have been formed to add strength and the sides have been bent in for the same reason. The top one is also slightly bigger all round. Can anyone "enlighten" me as to the differences? Top one home made? Early "pre-production? A fluke?  Would like to know, Thx

Also I will have no use for these so if anyone would like to make me an offer I'm open to that also.  Thx

Hi Throwchain...are you Dan?  I'm interested in the speedo bracket you have pictured at the bottom of the page. The top example appears to be made of a heavier grade metal than what I'm trying to replace. I'm terrible at buying and even worse at selling so...being the holidays and everything would you consider $20 plus shipping? Looking forward to your reply.   Harry
