Santa has answered my need for a speedometer for the Jackpiner, but his elves didn't have a correct bracket. Anyone out there in Penton Land have one of the L-shaped speedo brackets to fit a 1972 Jackpiner that they'd be willing to sell?
Thx.

Doug,
Do you have a picture of what you need? I have atleast 30 used
and brand new VDO speedometers with and without brackets. I'm
sure one of these brackets will work. They came from a old
vintage enduro shop we purchased.

This is from the before pictures and is the bracket from my 72/73 Jackpiner. Is this what you are looking for Doug?

Yep, that's the one. I think they were unique to just a few model years?

I hated that bracket. It was almost impossible to keep it from flopping around like a fish outta water on enduros. The older style speedo brackets seemed a lot better but I never got my hands on one.

They must be banded tight to the crossbar. I'm pretty sure they were 72 only w/ maybe a few early 73s but legit old-timers would know. Funny the steel tanker and the later cross bar mounts were both very secure.
